Revista Lusitânia

Revista Lusitânia was an online and printed publication dedicated to promoting Portuguese rock and metal between 2020 and 2022. Throughout its activity, it served as a consistent and focused platform for news, interviews, releases and updates from the national alternative music scene, with particular attention to underground and independent artists.

The magazine monthly published short news pieces, features and announcements covering a wide range of subgenres — from heavy metal and hard rock to punk, black metal, death metal and experimental projects — helping document the breadth and diversity of Portugal’s heavier music landscape.

By highlighting new albums, singles, reissues, label updates and emerging bands, Lusitânia acted both as a bridge between artists and audiences and as an informal archival record of ongoing developments within the scene. Its pages captured contributions from established acts as well as lesser‑known projects, strengthening visibility for musicians often overlooked by mainstream media.

Although no longer active, Lusitânia remains an important reference point for anyone exploring the evolution of Portuguese rock and metal during the years of its publication. Its archive preserves a significant snapshot of the creativity, intensity and independent spirit that characterize the country’s heavy music culture.
