Louvado Abismo
Louvado Abismo
ESW.CDA.146

Though a recently formed band, Louvado Abismo unites experienced musicians from diverse artistic backgrounds, featuring theater actress Patrícia Andrade (ex-Sinistro) on vocals, Hugo Conim (Dawnrider, Els Focs Negres) on guitars, Pedro Almeida (A Tree of Signs, Scum Liquor) on drums, and Hélder Luís (Mozart Meets Chaos, The Sleeper Has Awakened) on bass.

Their debut album blends the dark atmosphere of Christian Death, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Killing Joke, Swans, Ministry, and Godflesh, reinterpreting post-punk and industrial aesthetics through a distinctive contemporary vision. Driven by hypnotic rhythms, cinematic bass lines, textured guitars, and Patrícia’s powerful Portuguese-language vocals, the album explores themes of madness, introspection, and altered perception across ten immersive tracks.

Originally released in digital and vinyl format, the album is now receiving its first CD edition, offering a physical counterpart to this intense and deeply conceptual journey into the darker corners of the human psyche.

Thunderstorms of my Youth
ESW.CDS.165

“Thunderstorms of My Youth” is a fan-favorite off the previous album “Staring Down into Incandescent Cities”. Recently, while swimming and daydreaming about another extended trip soon to come, the floating train of thoughts led me to a sudden idea: what if I tried to vocalize that track in particular? Always true to my instinct, that’s exactly what I did and here is the result. Also, a full-circle moment, being a nostalgic and longing track with a prominent feature of an Asian instrument, adding a rich, meditative layer, which also signalizes both things past – and things to come. My love and fascination for Southeast Asia and plans of gathering some writings & impressions while travelling for a possible future endeavour. But the present is the moment and the moment is now: sincerely hope you enjoy this version, which came along so inspiring and so swift, most vocals having first-take emotion and a singalong quality to them. — Bruno A.

Made of Moon and Teeth

“On the 2 years spent working on the new album A Sea of Floating Mirrors, I pretty much
focused on its 10 songs. But at some point, I did record another sketch, this being the main
riff & verse of what now became Made of Moon and Teeth. So as soon as I closed the album
chapter and started slowly working on new material, checking which ideas I might pick up
on, this one instantly came to mind. From then on, it was a smooth process of writing the
rest of the song-structure and coming up with lyrics. I didn’t want to wait until the next
album, since this is as rocking & catchy as it gets and hence fits perfectly with the new one also having been started during its sessions. Again, resorting to Xinês on drums, Manuel
on bass and Dan for the master, me handling all the rest. Very proud of how this came out,
can’t believe how infectious and fast-paced this thing is! I do believe this is the catchiest
song I’ve ever written and am still surprised and smiling every time I press the play button
on my DAW”. – Bruno A.
