“With Vultos EP II, Os Vultos wanted to repeat the experience they had with EP I. Therefore, in Vultos EP II, recorded in June 2007, the idea was to have one song plus one or two instrumentals as in EP I. However, this initial idea was changed when in the rehearsal sessions for this EP suddenly they had in their hands two non-instrumental songs.
In “Alguém/Hamster, correr, correr” they use the same composition strategy that they used in Vultos IV, first came the song “Alguém” and from the improvisation over this song a new song emerged “Hamster, correr correr”. In “Árvores” they used the middle section of the song for a noise/drone part. “Árvores” is still one of my favorite songs of Os Vultos, and I know that is also the case for Greta because of the pounding and scratching bass she does in this song. The last song is an instrumental keyboard song composed by Per where he also added the rhythmic section. A good church organ inspired song for closing EP II.” — Artur M. Salgueiro
